Both formats are held as small, hosted soirées in collaboration with high-end retail venues, clubs, societies, institutions, or private settings. They offer an engaging experience for guests and clients.
The Talk is an opportunity to see the work itself and to come to know me and my hosts better. It has been described as warm, personal, and revealing—an experience that quietly exceeds expectation and stays with you long after the evening has ended.
Putting the Talks together has revealed the latent showman in me, as well as the writer, and I’m really enjoying giving them. To make each one more personal to my hosts, I find out their stories and incorporate them into the Talk.
The Conversation, which has evolved naturally from this, is a more intimate exchange between me and a fellow practitioner, usually my host.
It came about quite naturally following a meeting with Sophia Hirsh about a Talk I was to give for the Mayfair jewellers—Hirsh. In discussing our work—standards of excellence, time-honoured methods, legacy, and insights—it became clear that this exchange was itself compelling, and the format for the evening shifted from a Talk to a Conversation.
Rather than a presentation, it is a genuine dialogue—grounded in shared experience and curiosity. It offers guests a way into the world behind the work and, just as importantly, a sense of the people behind it. The structure is simple: a brief introduction from each of us, followed by a relaxed conversation.
The four-minute clip below will give you an idea of how they look and feel.
